Ministry Description

The Local Church

I Timothy tells us that the church is “the pillar and ground of the truth”. We believe that it is essential that ministry be done in conjunction with the local church. We are sent by our local church, and supported by local churches. Our ministry in South Africa works with and through Bible believing local churches.

Through our research we have determined that the most effective way to reach and house orphans in South Africa is to establish a children’s village and to help facilitate adoption for local families. We currently have a Baby Home on our property that provides a home to 6 abandoned babies. The Lord has blessed us with a large property in which to build homes to house children and “parents”. Our plan is for each house to consist of godly house parents and up to 6 foster children. As time and funding permit, houses will be added for more children and parents.

Ministry Strategy

The Problem

There are over 3,400,00. AIDS orphans in South Africa alone, and over 250,000 child-headed households. The need is great, the biblical message is clear – James 1:27 “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”

Our ministry targets the youth of South Africa – specifically orphans who have no family to care for them.

The Target

James 1:22 says “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only . . .” The solution is for us to heed God’s call and go spread the gospel. We plan to share the gospel specifically with our target audience – orphaned youths in South Africa – and generally with those with whom we come in contact in our daily lives. We know that the most important change is a change of the heart. Therefore, our goal is to evangelize young men and women to surrender their hearts to the Lord Jesus Christ, and to train them to be “doers of the word”.

The Solution Other Ministry

It is so important that Christians don’t “sit, soak and sour”. Being involved in ministry is biblical and important to spiritual growth. Therefore, outreach ministries is a core part of our routine. The majority of this are done through our local South African church, with us and our “extended family,” willingly and cheerfully taking part.
